A57HandlingofBearingsOperatingTemperatureRangeTheallowableoperatingtemperaturerangeforneedlerollerbearingsisgenerally-20〜+120°C.Whenoperatingattemperaturesoutsidethisrange,theoperationmaybelimitedbytheallowabletemper-aturerangeofprepackedgrease,seal,cagematerial,etc.Further,ifthebearingisusedathightempera-ture,i.e.120°Corabove,theamountofdimensionaldisplacementgetslarger.Sospecialheattreatmentisnecessary.Theoperatingtemperaturerangeforsometypesofbearingsisdifferentfromtheabove.Seethesectionforeachbearing.PrecautionsinhandlingSincethebearingisahigh-accuracymechanicalele-ment,specialattentionmustbepaidtoitshandling.Thefollowingprecautionsshouldbenotedwhenhan-dlingthebearings.1Bearingsandtheirsurroundingpartsshouldbekeptclean.Bearingsandtheirsurroundingpartsmustbekeptcleanpayingspecialattentiontodustanddirt.Toolsandtheworkingenvironmentshouldalsobecleaned.2Bearingsshouldbehandledcarefully.Ashockloadduringhandlingmaycausescratches,indentationsandevencracksorchipsontheracewaysurfacesandrollingelements.3Bearingsshouldbemountedordismountedwithpropertools.Whenmountinganddismounting,toolssuitableforthebearingtypeshouldbeused.4Bearingsshouldbeprotectedagainstcorrosion.Bearingsaretreatedwithanti-corrosiveoil.However,whenhandlingthemwithbarehands,sweatfromthehandsmayresultinfuturerustformation.Glovesshouldbeworn,orhandsshouldbedippedinmineraloil.5Precautionsregardingoilcomponents.Rustpreventionoilorgreaseisusedforbearings.Therefore,oilmaydriporspatterdependingontheoperatingconditions.Considerinstallingashieldingplateifnecessary.StorageStorebearingslaidflatindoors,placedinthepacking/packagingprovidedbyIKO.Avoidstoringinhightem-peratures,lowtemperatures,andhighhumidity.Inproductspre-packedwithlubricant,thelubricantwilldeterioratewithageifproductsarestoredforalongtime.Besuretoreapplylubricantbeforeuse.
